    Update:

Kitchen Designer has been today. Upshot is:

New boiler (see below) boxed in with stow away cupboard, induction hob, double oven (eye line built in), built in fridge, built in washer, built in dishwasher, granite look alike laminate worktops, new (re-located) sink and a half, extractor hood, xx number of cupboards and drawers, wsplash backs same material as worktop.

OK I have to sort floor, ceiling and walls, but so far it hasn't cost me a penny**

**apart from getting rid of old central heating system in toto (well I wasn't going to put the kitchen in and then have the 30+ yr old boiler go bang).

Now I just have to go buy new pans too.

I wouldn't bother with one and a half bowl sink. Just go straight for a double bowl. I LOVE mine as it's so handy, and more versatile than the one and a half. I also have one of those pull out taps and they are fab too!

At last the new kitchen was delivered yesterday - it is now in the garage (3 bits missing apparently) - it turned up at 09.30 when it should have arrived after 12.00noon.

Spending the weekend emptying the old one as builders are moving in (allegedly) on Monday to remove that one, then Tuesday the flooring company are in for 2 days followed by the decorators.....

....the installation is scheduled to start on 7th December - wish me luck!

                          Installation Days 1 and 2.....

                          DAY ONE

Left OH in to house sit waiting for the builders, she waited, waited and waited even longer....

...result: No builders so kitchen not removed.

...tried: contacting kitchen company at 18.00 - no one there...

...consequence: flooring company phoned leaving message on answerphone not to come on day 2

                          DAY TWO

Followed up call to flooring company at 08.30 - spoke to owner - no problem, just let him know when they can start on site.....

...Contacted Kitchen company at 09.30 and asked for an explanation and a time / date when builders will arrive requesting a call back....

....09.30 flooring guys arrived at site to "thanks but no thanks" greeting from OH (why do I bother?)....

....contacted kitchen company again at 13.30 spoke to someone different, still no news but they will call back (gullible? me?)......

....left work at 17.30 - no call back yet....

...18.00 arrived home, rang flooring company leaving another message on answerphone - "I'll update you daily"......

....called decorators who were due on site day 4 onwards and they are now booking another job in for this week - so that puts us nearly a week behind already and it's only day two!!!!

After last night's micro meal - we have reinstated the cooker for now - just waiting for the red wine to warm

Tune in tomorrow for latest updates!

Oh dear, have you contacted the people who organised the competition? This should be a pleasure, not a pain for you. Hope today goes better.

                                DAY THREE

13.00 - no contact so another mobile call from work "builder will contact you tonight"

So, having cancelled a night out to wait for builder's call why do I think they gave him only mmy WORKS telephone number??!! Probably because it is 19.40 and no call yet.......

....OH is getting very frustrated as she lives elsewhere and is rally doing me a favour by house sitting......

....tomorrow will be an angry day with said kitchen company (and yes I will let the advertising agency know my views - but only after everything is fitted and working!)......

                                .....Day four update tomorrow
