I used to love Liver & Onions as i little girl, until one day whilst eating it i came across a really chewy piece. Upon spitting it out onto my plate i discovered it was a pipe - bueeerkk! Still turns my stomach to think about it.
Also loved Black Pudding as a little girl until my dad told me what it was & how he used to make it (his dad was a butcher & that was his job!) Buerrkkk!

Liver cos my mum made me sit at the table for hours as a child and then put it cold in a sanger the next day - as if I wouldn't notice!
Any sort of roast meat cos I chew for too long and it turns to sawdust (choke, gag, urk)
Also I came home one morning much worse for wear and thought the fish in the fridge was smoked salmon. Shoved it and started to chew before realising it was actually raw smoked haddock so now hate smoked salmon (love sushi though)Last edited by lizzylemon; 29-06-2009, 08:04 PM.

I never feel like eating much in this very hot weather (very unusual for me!) but one thing I do like is chocolate milk shakes BUT the milk has to be ice-cold, best to keep it in the freezer so it defrosts and then you get crushed iced milk. Lovely but if its warm, urghhh, the smell - can't do it.
And Hayley B I'm glad I'm not the only banana hater - and I bet you're fed up with all the jokes about your adversion too!
One of my earliest memories is sobbing because I was being made to eat a mashed banana.
And sprouts, as a child if you didn't eat them for lunch then there they were for tea and then worst of all breakfast the next day! But suspecting my mother's dreadful cooking may have had a lot to do with it, I am growing some this year in a spirit of adventure.
My worstfood memory is actually daddy-long-legs. On a UK holiday, lashing rain, freezing cold etc and after a miserable morning of trailing along the sea front they decided to have the family packed lunch in a seafront shelter but it was full of daddy-long-legs and nothing - not extreme hunger, being freezing cold and wet, the wrath of my parents (considerable and horribly long lasting) could get me in that shelter! What a lovely holiday that was....

Love 'em now, but with cream or cereal and milk.
AND all you milk haters - I was milk monitor at primary school just so I could drink the leftovers!Last edited by Glutton4...; 29-06-2009, 09:23 PM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Beetroot!
When I was about 10 I tried it for the first time, after an hour or so stomach objected, spectacular results!
A few years later, decided to give it another chance, same effect.
Never tried again, and not going to!Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

The smell of browning meat, especially minced beef, makes me gag. I'll eat it when it's finished in a main dish, no problems.
I can't eat shellfish because I have an iodine allergy. At a dinner party years ago, someone knowingly gave me finely chopped scallop, thinking that if it was mixed with something else I'd be ok. I was so not ok, but at least I didn't have to shampoo their cloakroom carpet.

Vinegar! YUK! I was about 10 years old and my parents had taken me for fish and chips, as usual, I asked for lots of salt and vinegar. There was far too much vinegar! (I'm winceing as I type this). I had to eat it all because my Mum said I had too. I've never touched vinegar like that every since.Bernie aka DDL
