We had a fab time in Spain, it was sooooo nice and prob the only place I have ever been that I would go back to or buy somewhere there too.
However we returned to extreme humidy here and now we all feel ill lol. It was hot where we were but dry too, so much nicer!
Mum has been doing her best with the garden but it's not been good. The outside toms had all wilted, but have perked up again now, the peach tree had lost 20 peaches, only about 10 left on it.
Lots of salad leaves had bolted.
Some of the toms in the greenhouse had fallen over and lots of branches snapped off, looks like my dad's fat bum couldn't fit through the gaps to water.
The deer have bitten holes in the chain mesh fence and eaten most of the peas, broadies and the flowers off the beans. And ALL the lettuces. And the parsnip leaves.
In the brassica bed (covered with netting), 4 brocolis had bolted, 2 caulis had just stared to blow. Mum said she didn't like to cut them and eat them (she'd rather they were wasted??!!) The lettuce had bolted in there too.
My little boys bucket of white carrots have gone to seed and have no carrots in the bottom? No idea what went on there.
The chickens ESCAPED and were chased by a huge stray cat. The man next door has had to do emergency repairs to the bit of fencing they had prised up. Luckily he managed to catch them all.
At nanna's I found 9 marrow sized courgettes, which I have had to give away as there is no way we can eat 9 marrows. Mum said she didn't like to pick the courgettes when they were little as they were mine.
*sighs*
Am not going away ever again.
