Feeling really happy so I wanted to share with you grapes.
My son has cerebral palsy and for the last few years has been going through a really tough time, getting angry and frustrated. He has had several school changes and this hasn't been easy particularly as some of the schools haven't been good.
This year he moved on to high school and we were fortunate enough to get him into a really excellent school.
For the first time his support workers are actually supporting him to do things for himself instead of taking the easy option of doing it for him so his reading has really come on and he can at last write without a keyboard!
he was a year down and his last school insisted on moving him up to the 'correct year'. As an August Birthday he is only 2 weeks off the year below anyway!
His new school have suggested and agreed with us that he should redo year 7. The main reason being that he struggles in large class groups and they are introducing a new form next year with only around 10 kids in it which will be much better for him. He and we are thrilled
The icing on the cake has been the 2 kittens we aquired a few weeks ago. They have been really calming for him!
His school term finished yestaerday and this moring I am listening to the dolcet tones of him singing in his room and chatting to his kittens.
He really is like a different child!
Thank you school and thank you kittens! (you're even forgiven for the odd kitty truffle given the joy and happiness you have brought)
