Sorry I'm a bit late reading this but glad to hear you're feeling better. With the very kind offer from Ginger ninger to help with the garden, you never know, you might have just got your self a new friend from it.

Also check out any local Chinese Medicine practices / shops - I was bent in two in complete agony with 2 twisted vertebrate and went to the local practice. After some serious manipulation, massage, cups and a few needles I was like a new person - seriously amazing.

(Mind you, luckily it was in Spain so I didn't understand what they were saying otherwise I might have freaked at the acupuncture but it really didn't hurt and have had more since and I'm a complete baby over needles)

        So sorry about your accident.

Weeds - I wouldn't worry, it is far more important that you or dogs were not badly hurt and your shoulder will heal. OK, so the weeds might go mad for a couple of months - they've been growing like crazy here at Bag End for the last 18 months but I don't worry - the place is full of wildlife and eventually I'll get the b*ggers out, until then, looking at the weeds is better than looking at the 40 foot tall Leylandii which were there before!

Get well soon! These things are as annoying and inconvenient as they are painful.

Oh, that's awful Sprocket*, I hope your shoulder mends really quickly and without too much pain.

Try not to panic about weeds, accept any offer of help you get, and if you can get some mulch down all the better to suppress the weeds before they start. A thick layer of compost/straw/cardboard/soggy newspaper will all help.
