Have to admit that these were top of my list until yesterday and are still a close second and third.

Has to be bacon, lots of it! If the bacon is good, no condiment needed, and if not, nothing will make it right.
My other favourite is marmite-and-lettuce (strictly for summer).

I like a `cha cha cha' = chicken, cheese and chutney on brown or white...! fantastic!

I am SOOOOO with you on this. I loathed egg & cress for years, would never try one after too many memories of fellow pupils eating really smelly egg& cress sarnies at school.

One day, about 4 months ago I just had to have an egg sandwich. No idea why, I just did...it was bliss. Waitrose does a fab E&C sarny, free range, organic, granary bread etc etc

When my girls present me with my first egg, it is destined to become the best ever egg & cress sandwich. Other ingredients will include a glass of chilled Hock and a comfy chair, on the patio, in the sunshine........hurry up girls!

A very close, non-healthy, runner up is a chip butty....bliss!

Oooh, mines called a kirkham from my local deli - it's made on granary bread with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil with some kirkham cheese, sliced beetroot, sliced apple, lettuce, onion marmalade and tomato... Gorgeous

My favourite is - thick slices of bread (brown or white). A very thick layer of Philadelphia cheese, slices of homegrown tomatoes and a generous sprinkling of sea salt.

                      Very simple, but absolutely delicious.

I am changing my mind (well, its a mans perogative apparently?)

Probably because my last few years have been spent in areas where these are unavailable, but it's your bog standard bacon butty, with my home made tommy k. Just scrummy.

Ooh, Flamborough crab! I'm going on Wednesday to drop youngest daughter and her friend off for a camping trip, and again on Sunday to pick them up. That means I can bring back 1 each time. I'll have to stay for a while too, the dog will insist on an hour or three at Danes' Dyke for a swim.
