hi guys i am back and thanks for you kind words.

well spent 5 hours in A&E as my mum made me go! well they made me have a pregnancy test lol! cor that was a long 2 hour wait for that result ha ha ha!

they gave me strong painkillers and some other tablets as i am apparently passing a kidney stone and if anyone has done this before its not pleasant at all!

if i am no better in 2 days i have to go back! the cramps are still coming but the painkillers are helping at the mo! and i will carry on taking them!

God i hope this pain goes away and these cramps as far worse than any contraction i had every had and i had twins!!!!!

(how do you know when you pass a kidney stone? out of interest ... can you see it, or are they too small?)

first guess was going to be gall stones.... which are also not fun... but seeing as A&E say kidney stones, poor you. did they identify via a scan?

{{{hugs}}} and hope you feel better soon

gall stones , the pain starts just to the left of your solar plexus, I my case, from painful experience! lol

Perhaps a retired Doctor can have a say about this thread. I'm afraid I was the kind of Doctor who chopped people up but I did my basic about the time Methuselah was having hormone tests.

Discussing this kind of thing may be interesting but is not very useful. Had I seen it earlier I would not have attempted a diagnosis by email, PM or chatline. I would have said straight away that you should get to A&E by car, taxi or dialling 999 and demanding an ambulance.

Please folks, if somebody posts in the future that they are in acute screaming pain (except maybe toothache) then don't sit around playing amateur GP. Tell them to see a Doctor immediately by whatever means they have to.

Sorry if this sounds pompous but in my day (that sounds pompous too I know) we would see a patient with these symptoms like a shot. Even evenings or weekends or midnight. I know that things don't work like that anymore but there are some things that should not be left to amateurs on forums. And I know that a majority of the medical profession would still agree with me.

Apologies if anybody is offended and I know everybody meant well but please don't do it again. Thank goodness mums still have sense.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

I think Su tried that, and the doctor wouldn't come out.

I love the fact that 'child birth' is used as the standard by which all other pain is measured because according to women it's the most excruciating thing one can go through. Despite this my mum had 2 children!
Well I've been kicked in the gonads before, and I can tell you I won't be doing THAT out of choice a 2nd time!

From what I read of kidney stones they don't sound fun, and from the picture on Wikipedia you could end up passing something that looks suspiciously like a Crunchy Nut Cluster!: Kidney stone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

                              Best wishes

Quite right Two Sheds. For better or worse it isn't my day any more. That is why I said to go to A&E and not to ask a panel of gardeners. Even if they are very good gardeners.
