Christmas beards for charity

Inspired by lumpyjumpers challenge list thread I decided to look at drawing up my own list of things to do before I reach 40 (just over 6 years from now).

One of my list items is "grow a Christmas beard".

Gave me an idea.

Thought it might be a cool fundraiser for the local hospice charity who looked after my Nan in her final weeks/days.

Before I look into the logistics/working of setting it up - would anyone here be interested in joining in? Open to both sexes of course!

One of my friends attends an event each year called "Movember", it involves "Growing moustaches in November for charity"!
Guys grow moustaches, and then they all go to a fancy-dress party as various moustachioed characters like Freddy Mercury, Charles Bronson, Hulk Hogan etc, and the proceeds go to charity.

Sounds like a similar idea.

I used to work with a bloke who grew a beard once a year and then had one side of his entire head shaved for charity, so he had half a moustache, half a beard and half his hair. He got sponsored to stay like that for a month.

Great idea, but make sure LW approves too - if she hates facial fluff you might be in for a LOOOOOOONG few months

When I worked in an office, all the guys on the team used to grow 'beards'. Bearing in mind we were all between 19 and 23, so 'beards' were generally itchy bum-fluff beards. We just looked like a team of hobos after a week (or two).

Way way back, when I lived down south - the lads always used to have a sponsored handlebar moustache competition........it started around now and I don't think any of them made it to October without shaving it off.

My OH looks like a mexican bandito when he grows facial hair. He's usually got a 5 o'clock shadow by 9.30am, but give him a day or two without shaving and it 'ay currumba'!
