  • An allotment - the answer to cash strapped parents during a recession.

    I've had an idea.

Bean is desperate to crawl, so we think it won't be too long before he's motoring around causing havoc around the house.

LadyWayne is due to go back to work in a few months.

I reckon the two things will work quite timely together.

Between now and then all I have to do is get Bean to learn what is a weed and what is not and I can leave him on the plot for the day - saving a fortune in childcare costs.

The plot is fenced in, so there's no way for him to get out and get himself into trouble. There's water available so he won't dehydrate, and there's plenty of organic food to hand so he won't starve.

The bonus will be that I'll hopefully come back to a fully weeded plot at the end of the day and as he crawls around he'll flatten the paths out nicely.

Just need to figure out what he does the next day...

He guards the chooks that you'll put on your plot!! Silly Daddy, fancy not knowing that! He can chat to them, teach them how to talk scribble and they'll teach him how to talk chook

For legal reasons I would like ot point out that the above made comments were said in jest and I would not consider leaving my boy without adequate shelter from the sun.

A growing boy needs a shed, just like his Dad's

(said in a Welsh accent a la Windsor Davies)

I think that's a really good idea Wayne! I'm sure that Bean would love to follow in his Daddy's footsteps.
