You can get specific external mosaic grout combo adhesive stuff these days from a builders supply company is normally the cheapest option.
We have Ridgeons down here and a huge bag is £10, white, barley, ivory and grey colours I seem to remember. Have a look for somewhere local to you and pop in.
They're always so happy to see women in these places, I find them especially helpful!!!
Hi Raine, if the piece you're doing is not too big you could just use a tub of ready mixed waterproof 'fix'n'grout' which you can get from B&Q, Homebase, Wickes etc. I used that on the mosaic I did on an old satellite dish years ago & it's outside & still O.K. I used glass mosaic tiles though, if you're using thick heavy broken pottery etc. you might need something with more grip, proper tile cement.
No nothing special. It literally is called: Mosaic tile External Adhesive and Grout (or very similar wording)
The building suppliers have a huge range in comparison to homebase etc as their customers are normally building trade so they won't be happy with a little tub of ready mix for 8.99 - they want the real deal and we get to take advantage of that 2!
I love knowing I'm actually buying the same product that commercial tilers, builders whoever use, plus it comes at trade prices and tends to be better quality which totally blows Homebase out of the water for me (especially here as we only have homebase near us and its rubbish).
