I had a session the other day, and had one of those big tub-trugs full of weeds, just from one bed! They came out quite easily though - plenty of 'top' to pull them up with

I found that too - also the ground was still quite wet which helped rather than the weeds being set in concrete. The ones that caused the most bother were the spikey ones with the hollow stem. They just break in your hand.
