Handiest thing I bought was a backscratcher for £2 ...................or at least I thought so until I spotted them at 2 for a quid in Poundland!

I used to make enough to pay for my annual family holiday buying books at car boot sales and flogging them on eBay. *Now where's my camera......... I could do with a holiday*

before u all get carried away with E bay remember check the postal charges and conditions!.
quite often the item is cheap but not when postage is included, lots of sellers make up their profit by low selling and high postage charges.
also check the postage terms quite often what is quoted is illegal. EG you are responsible for non delivery and u have to claim of the post office,actually it is the sellers responsibility to do this.
think carefully before parting with large cash amounts there are lots of cons out there and all sorts of bidding up tricks.

I always buy on eBay if I can, rather than go to the shops.

I've bought all sorts of things:

- a bike
- a tent
- shoes/clothes/a fascinator
- plants/seeds/pots
- silicone muffin tins

and I've sold:

- a Reliant Robin !
- clothes/books/shoes/plants/all manner of junk

If a seller is breaching Ebay's conditions, you can get your money back (especially if you use paypal).
Most people are wary of the high postage-charge items, but as a result, I have more than once purchased an item a lot more cheaply than an otherwise similar item listed with low postage charge. Ebay charge the seller based on the selling price, but the postage charges are exempt, so adding it on the postage may seem like a good move, but I've noticed that often, it is counter-productive.....

I have bought / sold over 1000 items on Ebay with 100% feedback. Great way to do business if you are careful.

My work van - 37000 miles Renault Kangoo, 6 months tax 12 months mot - paid £1100 had it since march, no problems. Off to pick up a Stihl long reach hedge trimmer tomorrow

I'm currently doing up my spare bedroom/come office and am doing it as cheaply as possible, i decided to do it retro circa 1950's all embroidered linen and lots of flowery prints. Cath Kidston is lovely but costs a bomb so i turned to ebay.
So far i have got lots of lovely bed linen and embroidered pictures for as little as 99p!! I just got 4 original 50's rose printed pillow cases for £5 whereas one similar from Cath Kidston would be £15 each!!
I have picked up some people charge a fortune for the postage, however one lady i bought a handbag off gave me a refund when she realised she had over charged on the postage.
So far very happy with purchases, going to try selling some things too as i have lots of things i could definitely do without!!
Maddest thing i have seen on there is a tank for sale, son and heir was keen!!!

I've been with eBay since 2002 - I started out selling swimwear/lingerie and did pretty well out of it, but it wasn't for me on that sort of scale - too much attention needed and I don't have...erm, what was I saying?

The most expensive thing I have sold was a BMW motorbike for £7500 - it then took on a slight seedy side, cos the man wanted to pay in cash, but he was ooop Norf.

So SD ride the bike up to meet Northern Man with a bag of 'protection' stuff, the tranasction went smoothly, Northern Man wasn't a gangster, he was just on odd shifts.

SD caught the train back with the loot in his ruscksack - BUT SD had been on nights previously, so no sleep, he knew he would fall asleep on the train - so out can the bag of 'protection'.

He handcuffed (handy being a copper eh!) the rucksack to his right arm and in his left-hand pocket he has his hand on his ASP (truncheon) (que fnarrs)

I just sold a car on eBay and specified cash payment. I must look a bit of a shady character as the guy asked to take a piccie (rogues gallery) of his missus handing over a big wad of cash! Sensible I suppose?

My OH buys a lot of coins on Ebay being a collector, he always waits till the last few seconds to bid and normally wins the item, that way he can see if the price is going to go higher than he wants to pay. We tried selling a few items but he got it wrong and we didnt really make anything, just got rid of things.

Tell him to use an 'auction sniper', Auction stealer is a free version that I use, then he won't have to sit next to the pooter at auction end!

E bay is great! I have bought horse rugs, chicken house and light, rose arch and more horse stuff - lethal!

I love ebay and can waste hours looking for things that I don't need The funniest thing I've bought is a Mr T face kit for a fancy dress do that I was going to *i pity the fool*

I've sold and bought a lot of stuff on Ebay but only been conned once and that was for £10 so I haven't done too badlyx

Best I've bought is 100mx 1m of landscape quality weed fabric - £28 - bargain.
