Where do you get Big Girls Pants from Seahorse? Do they make you brave? *wonders if they're a new M&S product*
Ooh, *thinks... it might be worth the extra £10 delivery charge to France

EDIT: actually, scrub that, I've already got some big pants from M&S

Sorry to buck the general concensus here but having been in that exact situation a few years ago I would have wanted to know.
This was before the days of emails etc but I would have wanted to know straight away.
If the guy was still serving then SD will almost certainly have heard of it by now anyway.

Carp news at any time, more so for SD who is away.

Dave PVR'd a while back, so it's unlikely to be passed through the system, although it is possible I suppose

          Good advice.

Maybe you could email him and ask him to call you ASAP but also re-assure him that you're fine?

            Very awkward one.

Dunno what to suggest, sorry, but personally I wouldn't tell him in an email. I had relatives in the forces, but before the days of email, so dunno how they managed (how did anyone manage before email and mobiles???), sorry, I'm waffling (hic).

You know him best, so whatever you decide is probably right. Anyway, have another glass of sommat and think about it tomorrow. Commiserations anyway, chin up!

now see NOG - that thought went through my mind, not to tell him at all until he gets back, because they sure as heck won't let him come back for the funeral - close family only.

But I take a bit from each of you above, I donned me big girl knickers and I emailed him some pictures of his beloved Harley* and in the email said call me when you get a chance - and left it at that.

Knowing SD those words will not cause him stress overload.

*he had asked me a few days back to send pictures of his bike - but note that he didn't say 'pictures of you or the kittens'
