Hello all my dear friends
Well have got to another milestone - 28 weeks today! Havent had a chance to get on to tell you the good news - appologies I have just been feeling sooo knakered! My brill news is that BOTH twins are now head down so it looks like I should get my natural birth that I wanted after all as the criteria was that the lead twin (pea) HAD to be head down regardless of the others position.
I started packing my hospital bag yesterday which made it seem all the more real that I am finaly going to have another baby and two at that! It also made it seem even closer than a really long 10 weeks maximum till they will be forced to arrive if they havent already. Silly emotional me got all upset when I looked at my list and realised that the 8 babygros I had down to pack, was going to be impossible to pack as I only have 4. So so silly! What happened was; I got 4 in the early baby size (predicted size between 5lb and 6 1/2lb for twins) but didnt dare get any more as money is tight and my Mum said not to as "we will all want to get them something". Of course I also dont want to be too inundated with small size babygros as they wont be in them longer than a month or so! When I looked at my bag list I used for Bluebelle and Bashfull I simply doubled everything, which made 6 babygros but as I will be in a little longer with twins I added another 2 to be sure! I have explained to Mr D that if I have to ask him to pop home to wash two tiny babygros (they are sooooo tiny!) then its not because I havent got organised enough to get enough!
Mr D has been VERY busy. The plot has had to have been some what neglected so that the spare room could be painted. He did all the painting this weekend, having washed the walls down (house belonged to smokers before us) and made good holes etc last weekend. Bluebelle wanted to know why we were painting it the same colour (she know how much I hated the awful peach colour) and when I looked the magnolia (which I dont like much either but hey its neutral and was left over from Mr D's batchelor flat) was going on near nigh the same damm colour. Of course it dried alot paler and on the whole I am very pleased - it looks much fresher and a little lighter in what must be the darkest bedroom even though it is dual aspect! He didnt get a chance to clear away the decorating stuff so cant get in there yet (so looking forward to getting everything ready in there) as he had to go and renet the brasicas as the cabbage white butterflies were managing to get to the leaves straining at the top of the first atempt at netting we made some weeks ago.
Talking of the plot, the white lady beans seem to not be as heavy cropers (so far anyway) as the scarlet flowered varietys which I am disappointed about. The yellow french beans have been doing well - had 2 meals so far and the plants are so much more robust than last years dismal faliures. We have had two huge marrows with another 5 on the way and the cucumbers have been amazing with one off the outdoor and around 14 off the 4 in the greenhouse (burpless tasty green - cannot reccomend high enough) The cauliflowers I cropped yesterday albeit small and discoloured tasted ok - I just covered them in cheese sauce and even the kids both enjoyed it!
Am enjoying the kids school summer holidays. Not having to do the school run is wonderful! It great spending some quality time with my little brood before it doubles too! I must be one of the few Mums who would be in favour if they kept all the kids off in September as it would mean me not having to rely on so many people to get the kids to and from playschool and the various evening activities. It is going to be like a military operation and to be honest I am dreading it. Its also meant I am doing everything I can not to ask too many favours from anyone before then when to be honest I would probaly welcome a little help as the days tick by and I get more and more tired. Not that I am complaining - I darent in case the good lord take these two little blessings away from me but I have never known such tirdness and come the afternoon I feel like my belly (which now measures 54 inches!!!
!!!!) is going to explode, which is uncomfortable to say the very , very least!
Anyway enough of my waffle, anyone for a chat then I will pop back later. A visit from any of you that are local would also be most welcome (hate not having met a single grape yet!) but if not I am determined that come next spring I will have a little do here to meet some of you.
Lots of love from me and kicks from Pea and Pod!
