Really sorry to hear your news and can sympathise with you. Its very upsetting to lose any animal. My mum and dad have recently had to have their 16 year old golden labrador put to sleep - my dad didn't eat or sleep for days before and about a week after. As my mum's memory isn't very good (shes 82) for the first month, she couldnt remember that the dog (Sam) had gone and she kept looking for him. Things are a bit more settled now - made them a collage of his photos and they also had him cremated and have his ashes - think this has helped. Wishing you all the best.
Oh Hayley. Having been there with Little B in April (it also looked like he died bad with a heart attack), I know exactly how you're feeling right now. I still forget that he's gone sometimes, but they're never forgotten.
All the hugs in the world to you. ((((((((())))))))) xx
Feeling washed out today, drained. It's strange though 'cause there's a part that is missing - guilt - he's the first in a long time where I didn't make the decision. With Bo I gave myself hell over it for years after.
Magiccat you have my heartfelt sympathy....

I am SO sorry to hear of your news...... I know what your feeling, I lost my horse Zeppee when I was 18 he was the love of my life, a real feisty horse, would not settle for anyone except me. ((((((((((hugs)))))))))
Yep Hen was fiesty alright.... I only worked out yesterday how he got his racing name - Henry's First. He was by Aragon out of Krafty Kate and Catherine of Aragon was King Henry's first wife..... made me kinda sad that I hadn't worked that out previously.
Lenny, who came home from loan a couple of years ago and has(had) been back with Hen was staring out over the paddock today looking for his 'Nanny' I'm sure - made me shed (yet another) tear *wipes away tears - again

There will be tears for a goodly while, then you will start to remember stuff that makes you smile through those tears. I am filling up as I type this - with fond memories of the 3 I have lost over the past 2 years (4 if you include the one I re-homed a month ago).
