Please can you help me think of ideas to make some money :(

erm, i've got a really horrible confession along those lines... i'm ashamed to say that on more than one occasion me and my brother lured dogs away from their gardens then a couple of hours later took them back to claim a reward off their distraught owners... and i am DEEPLY ashamed

hmmmmm it sorta gets worse though.. it's an habit that i don't seem to have managed to break

errrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmm ok here goes... a few months ago we found a puppy wandering on our street... we walked round for about 5 mins looking for it's owners, well we walked to the end of the street anyway

it was some kind of pedigree schizu (or however you spell it) type dog and it was soooooooooo cute

anyway it wasn't until 6 hours later that my sis in law guilt tripped us into calling the dog warden so they could scan it and see if it was chipped.. i was devastated when they found the chip and it's real owner came to collect it.. wouldn't mind but she hadn't even noticed that it was missing

we'd even given it a name... hobo sniff sniff

my kids made stuff and sold books and their old games toys on a table in the front garden, they made up posters and stuck them on lamposts and the local shop, and they did well, theve been doing it for a few years now in the summer holls and they make a decent amount of money, last year they made nearly £200 this year they made about £150, they do it a few days running and it keeps them busy......

Could pick real houses as mum wouldn't let us take the ladder

Hi Flowers, at your age the only way to make some money is through work.
And don't expect to get paid the adult rate for the job, because you can't do the job like an adult. But if you are prepared to work for a few pounds then here are some ot things I did when I was your age:

Ironing - everybody hates the job but would pay a girl to come and do it.

Shopping - there might be older people who would give you a couple of pounds a week to go to their door after school and see if they want anything from the shops and save them trailing out in the rain

Child minding - I think you have to be 16 now to babysit, but there might be a young mum who would give you a couple of pouds a week to go round after school and take her toddlers out for a walk to the swingpark and give her an hour to cook the supper or just breathe

Housework - maybe there's someone who would give you a couple of pounds to come in and run round with the hoover and duster.

You could advertise yourself in a local shop - Mothers Help.

I did all those things when I was your age. I didn't get rich on it but I did get some extra money to buy pressies and things.

ive been saving up 1ps 2ps and stuff and so far ive got £23.10 but i need some more to by liams(boyf) presents

Sorry Flowers, I'm going to sound really oldfashioned here, but I have to say it anyway. At thirteen years old you're far too young to have a serious boyfriend, and how much do you need to spend on a present for him? You can't buy friendship, and you certainly can't buy boyfriends. Thoughts and feelings and respect count for far more than money!!

Thanks everyone for your comments for my daughter, her bf is really nice and I agree I dont want them to be serious yet, but I am dreading the fall out lol. She is a very good girl and I trust them both. She is also very genorous to everyone when it come's to presents. I will give her some extra pocket money when I get paid next week, she has till the end of August to save some money.

awwww i think it's sweet that she's got a bf.. and at least she'll get the heartbroken bit out of the way while she's still young and living with her mum if the worst does happen

How about going to the lottie with your mum and offering to help other lottie holders with weeding or general tidying up? If it was me, and I was 13, I'd say it was for the Hall Fund (only because Hall is my surname!) You could be collecting for the BMBFAP Fund (buy my boy friend a present fund)

Make/find/source stuff to sell at carboot sales or to neighbours/friends/friends parents etc.

Loads of fast growing annuals are hollow stemmed. Cut them into 6 inch pieces, bundle together with some twine and you've got a recycled, organic, biodegradable, Carbon neutral insect house for ladybirds, lacewings etc. Or even easier, bunches of twigs.

There's a lot of interest in gardening more naturally these days, including beneficial insects.

There's loads of things you could make. Hedgehog houses, bat and bird boxes (can be made out of small split logs), Toad and frog homes, butterfly houses, butterfly feeders etc.

Or what about plant racks? wooden slats supporting loads of milk cartons (through the handle gap) upside down with the bottoms cut off. Someone on here did it and it looked brill.

Or grow plants to sell. Learn the art of free plants with cuttings, seed harvesting, division, layering etc and get good at sowing seeds. Invest £10-20 in a month or 2's time when Wyevale and Wilkos etc are selling their seeds for peanuts and you could easily grow £100's worth of plants.

The key to making money is adding value. Take something easily available or cheap and make something with more value out of it.

A plastic trough costs maybe £3-4, or a hanging basket £1-2, fill them with plants that cost pence from seeds or cuttings, or a few quid from plugs and you've got something that's sell's for £10-20 in the right place at the right time.

Are you good with animals? house/pet sitting could be an option for people you know.

Any good at bargain hunting? There's good money to be made on hunting things out cheap and selling on. local collection only stuff from ebay is a goldmine. You'd be amazed what a bit of patience and 99p can get you.

Could you make jam or bake cakes for selling?
