Ever been on a blind date?

This week my boss went on a blind date and came back saying that she would have found it more interesting watching paint dry.

I went on a blind date years ago before the blind date where I met the husband and ended up going to the toilet and leaving by a side door as he was awful - probably still sat there waiting for me to come back....

I was just wondering has anybody else been on a blind date that was a raging success or a total nightmare?

blind date as in you'd never seen even a picture of them or never spoken to them? or as in someone you met on t'internet and then met up with?

I have met a few people from t'internet. Some have remained friends for many years - others quite strange! Even after chatting on the internet and seeing a few snaps, the reality of someones personality and what they look like often does not match to what is imagined.

A friend of mine ran a few speed dating events and I went along to help her..One event there were 15 women and 3 men so I had to pretend that I was one of the single men...LOL

blows me away that if the internet hadn't been invented i would never have met my wife.. in fact the odds are ridiculously high.. that we both should have been on our pc's at exactly the same time in exactly the same chat room

if one of us had been online 5 minutes earlier or 5 minutes later we might never have met, we never would have married and i would never have had a ready made daughter

I met Mr Sheds on the internet. He only lived 8 miles away, but we would never had crossed paths naturally.

He turned up on our date by bike (tick); said he was training to climb Kilimanjaro (tick) and he showed an interest in growing veggies (tick).
All complete lies of course! I can't get him on a bike now kicking or screaming, and he doesn't do anything more strenuous than lift the remote control. Ne'er mind, we seem to rub along OK.
