I've just realised that my cycle path is lined with 2 kinds of plum ... one is bright yellow, the other bright pink. They taste a bit sharp yet, but there's tons of fruit on them. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

Are all plums safe to eat?
They might all be gone now anyway, it was over a week ago when I saw some small yellow plums.

I have been given loads of cherry plums this week, small black ones, golden ones and red ones. Finally finished getting them sorted today, jam, chutney, frozen, and of course fresh from the bowl. Lovely, but so pleased to get them done before they went off! There are damsons around here, which I had intended to forage for, but to be honest I don't think we need them nowI could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.

Damson jam is something special isn't it?
Why were all the commercial orchards grubbed up?
Couldn't we use more damsons and plums in the food industry instead of importing mangos from half way round the world and very indifferent peachs from Spain?
Had a few Oulins Golden Gage this week - what an amazing dessert plum!
