  • Mando - bloomin' - lins!

so there was i this afternoon making my next lot of bread and butter pickles ans i decide "there's that mandolin thing that i've never used, i'll give that a go"............. THREE HOURS later my finger is still bleeding after I sliced both the cucumber AND the top off my finger!

I now have a bandage half way up my bleedin' arm to stop the blood; A&E can't stitch it cos there's nothing to stitch together AND I can't finish off my pickles cos I can't use my hand properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only good thing is that the berries I picked this morning made lovely ice cream in my new fabby ice cream maker!!!

Anyone else had an eventful day?!?!?!?!?!?

Ouch. Mine has a funny spiky thing for holding the fruit/veg and saving your fingers.

ROFLMAO!! Terrier y' daft dog!, that is a musical instument not a kitchen utensil !!, the proper industrial version has a blade at 90degrees and a slidey holder for the smaller bits which always gets lost after a week, they cost a bomb but worth it, as for the lethal "V" slicers they should be banned, cut yourself with a proper mandolin and you stand a chance of keeping some fingers, cut yourself with a "V" slicer and its goodbye bits of your hand!!!. (what lunatic invented that!!).

and I'm the lunatic that just lost bits of her hand! Bleeding now stopped thankfully and got out of washing the dishes last night at least! Having a shower this morning and not getting the bandage wet was a bit trickier though..........
