Really Nick? Didn't think you were as old as OH and me - it was shall I say, popular, when I was much younger! LOL! To be fair, it was a rogue copy and I fell asleep before it finished - not that it was my cup of tea anyway!!!

To be fair it isn't Christmas without Journey to the Centre of the Earth......Dexterdog

OK. I'm really gonna let my guard down here as I'm a Christmas film fiend.
My all time favourite CHRISTMAS film is 'Prancer' - the 1980s one with Sam Ellis. Out of all my collection, this is the one I leave til the very end - either Christmas Eve or the day before. Absolutely love it!
The rest of my collection kind of get viewed in reverse order, usually from around the time the decs go up. So far I've watched 'Home Alone', 'Santa Who', and 'The Santa Claus'. Still to go are: 'The Santa Claus 2', 'Miracle on 34th Street', 'Jack Frost' and of course 'Prancer'. I also have the DVD of 'Santa Claus the Movie' but haven't seen it for years and our DVD player doesn't work at the mo, so don't know where that features in my collection.

        Sad or what!!

Ok - you didn't have to agree!

P.S. It's Sam Elliot, not Ellis - I didn't think it looked right when I typed it!

              'Love actually'.

Well I don't care. I think it's a nice fun upbeat Christmas film and it's got Colin thingy in it being very cute.

Have to agree that for myself the seminal xmas movie has to be Its a Wonderful Life!

Do enjoy a good few other films tho, obviously the original version of The Whicker Man is one we will settle down to watch together, but I also enjoy watching the Great Escape (brings back memories of the whole family sat watching it at xmas), as EB said, anything with Sean in it (Bean or Connery), any classic war film (Cold Sea, Ice Cold in Alex, Dambusters type of thing, my Dad used to love them, and watching them with him was something that has stuck with me, not only do they bring back memories, but nowadays I also appreciate them for the actors performances etc), anything with Johnny Depp in it (EB, you have good taste too my dear! lol!), the 'Hairy Pufter' films (as Nick would say), Braveheart, Beaches, quite a few others too!

One film I always like to see on at xmas (even tho I rarely watch any of it) is the Wizzard of Oz, its just something I can remember seeing so many times as a child, it was always on at xmas! As was the Sound of Music, which although I've seen too many times now is still a good film!
                  Blessings

We don't celebrate this new fangled Christmas. We go for the proper festival of the Winter Solstice.

And we start our celebration in the traditional way....the first showing of the Great Escape. once the kids see it in the paper the Holiday starts.

Corr... David Bowie is a bit dishy in it isn't he?. It was even better when we got a mini yorkshire terrier as it made us realise (and laugh) when we realised just how well they got the character of Sir Didimus (and his steed Ambrosious)

Cooo, the music's playing in my head as I type
