Well done Piglet, not my kind of thing (I'm not remotely competetive and hate being judged) but a lot of people seem to enjoy this sort of thing.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

          Well done, piglet.

Put a couple of things into our annual show on Sat. and won two first prizes, one for a tray of 5 different veggies and one for a vase of mixed annuals.
Also got a novice medallion since I had not shown anything before.
          Really chuffed.

Out of interest what classes were you able to win with stuff grown for eating, not for showing?
Round here 2 or 3 serious show growers win everything and few others bother to compete!
It's the same at our local show The veg classes have entries from 5 or 6 local growers who show at all the local shows, and 2 who show at National level I still entered the things I had ready, but had no chance with any of them.
On the other hand, the baking/preserves section was well worth the entries - I came out with two 1sts, a 3rd and Best in Show for my chocolate cake

I'll still enter some veg if I have the right stuff ready, but I'll be putting my main efforts into baking
