I had such a 'homely' weekend! Started off on Saturday by making a lot of plum jam. My first time, so a couple of lessons learned (like there is never a saucepan big enough...), but I am now the proud owner of many full jam jars, some of which will be given to new homes as pressies!
I then Spring cleaned the house. Well, ok, tis summer, but I had a dinner party that night and the attendees live in a sterile house (she doesn't work, so has time for that cleaning malarky!). Woo, was I knackered! I then went shopping to get bits, made a plum crumble and prepared the curry for that evening, with all home-grown veg in it, plus giant puffball as the mushroom ingredient. Dinner party went swimmingly and the curry was served with my green tomato chutney, made the week before!
Then, yesterday I did some more harvesting and prepared a mixed veg risotto, which includes LOTS of the puffball. Sooooo yummy and I have some today for lunch, complete with freshly shaved parmesan on top.
Tis a shame I have to work for a living!
