Bean has cut his second tooth now (and we suspect there are more not far behind), and we have been weening him for weeks now.
Some weeks ago we started giving him sticks of celery, pepper, carrot, cucumber to gum on, and more recently bread (made in our bread maker on loan from LW's parents).
Last week we decided (now that he was toothed up) to start trying him on the food we eat, so I cooked a risotto last Thursday and we saved him some for his lunch the next day. It was blitzed up, but unfortunately as I'd cooked the risotto with a bit of "bite" in the rice he wasn't too keen as it felt a bit lumpy I'm sure. Next time I'll leave a bit in the pan, add a little more stock and over-cook it for him.
Last night I made a bolognese, and saved him some to be cooked with his baby pasta. I made it as usual ("flavourtastic" as someone once commented) including capers, olives, red wine, oregano, balsamic vinegar etc - and was slightly worried that it may be too flavoured for him.
Well, I just received a text from LadyWayne stating, and I quote - "He's LOVING his spag bol!".
Love 'im!
