Oh yuck! I have to confess with having a giggle though.

I'm one of those people who avoids certain fish if it's a bony type. I don't know how I used to cope with sardines at primary school!

I wouldn't check the eye but why let the fish go?
I love fishies although I buy them gutted, headless and sometimes skinned. It wouldn't bother me to do it myself.
OH is a fussy one,he will eat the fish till the 1st bone and then-that's it.

I don't really mind fish bones, I just pick round them, but RUNNY EGG WHITE! Deep, abiding shudder. I love fried eggs, but can't watch OH break em in the pan. Got to leave the kitchen. Slightest bit of runny egg white and the whole dinner is over for me. Yeeeuuuurrrrgh!

I hate fish bones, one time I bought salmon steaks instead of fillets by mistake and it took me ages to fiddle out all those bones.

Try boning a mackerel, Bren. Caught four last week and, out of the kindness of my heart, filleted them as DH makes a total horlicks of it if I grill them whole. It took me more than an hour!!! Not doing that again in a hurry!
