It will also depend on the size of tents, ours for instance is 6mtrs by 4mtrs approx then you have to have room for the ropes.

Same with camper vans and Caravans perhaps...
Also you will need a minimum metre space around each tent, as tents are very flammable.!!Blogging at..... www.thecynicalgardener.wordpress.com

Think of peeps that go trekking across Europe!

Has anyone thought about trying to book somewhere that we could all meet up other than sarz dads field. ( although it is a good idea ) If it was done early enough no one should have a problem booking somewhere. More expensive I know, but all the things we would want / need would be on site.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

I don't think the idea is that everyone has to camp?Just that for some of us it's going to be a long drive & to fit it all into a day we'd only have an hour or so meet.the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Camping - Dalesbridge Outdoor Accommodation for Walkers, Hikers, cyclists, cavers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts
They have a 'Group Green' with pitches for up to 50 tents, the whole thing can be reserved for one group.
If folks would prefer to go somewhere with loos and showers and a shop, (and, pay for it) then I would probably survive the snub

My comment wasnt meant to be anything other than thinking about trying to sort everything out, taking the work load off sarz. I didnt mean to offend anyone and I am all for camping in sarz dad's feild cos I wouldnt want to miss out anything and by being ' on site ' I wouldnt have to stagger very far For us its a journey of just over 320 miles and approx five hour journey. Might come up early as we will be on holiday that week anyway.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

If we keep it informal, and bung a portaloo on it for the day.....I'm sure we can all have a lovely day out.

Oh, and I just had such a lovely email from the lady at Dalesbridge...
Hi Sarah,Thanks so much for considering Dalesbridge for your lovely group, it wouldbe a delight to make you welcome. We currently have no bookings for AugustBank Holiday 2010 - but it is always our busiest weekend of the year so youare wise to book as soon as possible if you decide on Dalesbridge.
Mebbe we should have a vote on it? I'm waiting for a reply from the loo people with a quote for a loo/pair of loos for the weekend and once we have the comparative info, I'll stick a poll up.
(Seriously, I don't mind, there's a few things that make Dad's a pain in the bum, including it being on the back roads, 5 - 10 mins drive from a shop, and on the side of a windy hill )

If it helps people to decide on costs we just paid over £30 a night for tent 2 adults + 2 teenagers but that was with electric hook up, without electric I think it was about £25 a night.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
