In a couple days (give or take) I am one third the way through SD's sandcastle building trip, so that means that in three thirds he will be back YAAAAAY
So, my question (yes, I know, I'm dumb) three thirds isn't a whole - so where does the other bit go
If you know what I'm wittering on about, stand up and take a bow, if not, smile sweetly when you walk passed me
Excellent news piskie!

Buy a cake that's freezable. Cut it into thirds, eat one third, freeze the remaining two. In another's third's time defrost & eat another piece. At the end of the last third, defrost the last piece and save it for Snow Drop!

He tells me he is missing me hugely but is having a 'good' time!!
To be fair, it is what he is trained to do and for most servicemen, sitting 'at home' playing Cap't Mainwaring (don't tell him your name Pike) is not good for them - they have to go out to theatre (and we're not taking Les Misérables here) to remember what it is they signed a pledge for to do
Why does this thread remind me of my Uncle and his favourite poem...
One bright morning in the middle of the night
Two dead men got up to fight
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other
The proof of the growing is in the eating.

Even I understand that, and on an intellectual level what that entails. On an emotional level, tho' - well, hugs to that girl - respect to that man.
