  • I'm also very excited

woohoo, have booked a holiday to the Red Sea. Fed up of this 'summer' weather and in need of eyeball-dryiingly hot sun.

It is fantastic Ginger. I've been to Hurghada before but was not that impressed with the area. I'm going to Sharm el Sheikh and we (my daughter ad me) fly out next Monday.

      Yippee!

I am a diver anyway so have packed my mask and fins!

My son went there in May, he had a fantastic time, the Hotel they stayed in was right on the edge of the dessert so nowhere to go at night except the Hotel. He went diving, they both went on a quad bike into the dessert and smoked a pipe lol.

              Sounds great Jackie.

Glad he enjoyed it. I hope to too.

Been down the lottie this evening to tidy round a bit and have picked 4 pumpkins, 4 butternut squash, 10 cucumber, runner beans and tomatoes.

We came back from Dahab (about 90minutes North of Sharm) three weeks ago and had a fantastic time. Apart from my father in law breaking his wrist on the first evening out. It was really really hot though. The diving was fantastic. Please can I make one plea for responsible tourism though, if possible don't stay in the hotel all the time but go out and spend some money in the local shops etc. The big problem there at the moment is that everyone stays in big international hotels and none of the tourist money actually reaches the Eqyptians.
