But then how would I ....... oh never mind.

Well, awoke bright and breezy to give battle in the office, and the cursor now needs a sledgehammer touch to drag it anywhere across the screen, except in 2 small areas on each side of the pad.
Its been set to lowest sensitivity (like me apparently) so everything is actually quite painful to do, and yet still, if my errant thumbs, or a lazy finger hits the touch pad, it still moves the cursor. Incredibly tiresome.
I hate technology with a passion, I really really do.
I would use my own computer, but because of the up to date (???) new fangled security settings in the company intranet thats not allowed.
Still, at least I shall be on the golf course this afternoon to cheer me up.

I sympathise Bob. As a person of mature years, I was taught to touch type on an old fashioned non electric typewriter and could not cope with a laptop at all. When I stayed at my daughter's it was a laptop or nothing, and to get my fix of the Vine, SIL found me a plug-in mouse to use. It's always amazed me that the touchpad is below the keyboard - hence the problem of the "heels of the hand". It would be so much more logical to have it above the keyboard.

Bob why not try a usb keyboard & Mouse (you even could then have wireless), this way you have a full size keyboard too!

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

This lappy is sadly a works one, and I am incredibly restricted to what hardware I can put on it, alternative keyboards mouses etc is a no-no.
Even if I could, although Karachi is a large bustling city, Ramadan means nothing is open during the day, and in all honesty, the chances of me finding something remotely suitable are small.

Pretty sure that security and windows 98 dont go hand in hand, whatever is your company thinking off - you could always remove the fan and use it as a small air con.

                TEB,
                Sheer genius!!

Zazen, its great. Everyone who's seen it and been in it, loves it, except for my daughter. Who took one look at it and named it something very un PC that I wouldnt put it on here.

My sis took a piccy of me and her in front of it, and stuck it on her Faceache thingy, whereupon my daughter made another stinging comment, indicating that I wasnt a winner.

I love it however, and tootling around the French country lanes over the summer, with the lid down was just fantastic.
Should you and Mr Z ever pop over to my neck of the woods I would take you out for a spin.
1 at a time of course.

And yes, it appears that lumping this computer into the bin is the only way of getting it sorted. Not at all frustrating, although my Blackberry works fine, wooohooooo.
