Please put the ads back at the top of the page

I don't like the new layout. Ads at the side squishes everything up and when you scroll down all you have is a lot of empty white space at the right hand of the screen.

If it's to improve the system then fair enough, we all have to try and cope with change - move forward or get left behind! (or, I can hear some of you say, why mend it if it aint broke?)!

It might be so that they can fit more adverts in? In theory I don't mind it, but in practice... I reeeeally loathe it I'm on a Netbook, so the screen is already teeny, with this change I'm now down to a 14cm wide bit of text, it's not good...

Doesn't bother me. They need the ads, this forum most likely doesn't run for free. This gives them scope to add more ads down the side as they come.

And it is noticeably faster.

I must say that the Fentongollan one is annoying though. I hate flashing, animated ads. They're very distracting when you're trying to read them. Then again I notice if I minimise my browser I still get the full width forum but can't see the ads

True beefy, but I do appreciate that we need the ads to finance the Vine. At least where they used to be you could sort of ignore them. Do you think admin might take any notice of what we say about the screen layout?

More like No adds = No money for the website owners.
And before we go down the route of - "it helps pay for the Vine forum " - for the little it costs to run a server and a bit of bandwidth if the owners are not making that in sales of their magazine ( which this is a great big add for nothing more nothing less ) then they wont be here much longer. Wether they like to admit it or not the vine is a good little earner for them . With a membership of 22500 that adds up when you take adds on a pay per click payment scheme.

Admin will take note of what the marketing manager and the add company says. Only way the ordinary member will get noticed is if they stop clicking on adds and the money stops rolling in - then we will be noticed.
