Theyve raided me a good few times , the local moronic druggies hang out of car windows dribbling at the growlights i have, then ring the police as they think im setting up in competition!

the drugsquad turns up every time anyone phones, has a look around often using section thirty something terrorist act to search without a warrant (when i tell then to go away! ( after a few times of looking the same week ))

It happens lights or no lights, ive had them turned off since the end of june and they still turn up, not as often but they still turn up, middle of this summer i had marketmore cucumbers hanging down the house from the upstairs windows they came and `needed to look closer`

Last time about a month ago they demanded i remove and bin/burn all my tomato plants from window ledges ,greenhouse and garden to `prevent problems` ( i should buy tomatoes like a normal person!) , or they may have to arrest me for causing a disturbance... or antisocial behaviour as people had reported cannabis plants, i was costing them money with my messing around every time they have to come round!

There idiots... totaly stupid and ignorant! ( they are here anyway!) , one time they needed to call another expert as they thought an orange tree was one, it had 1 orange on it...., but... `the leaves looked suspiciously like cannabis!`

Starloc, words fail me! When a perfectly innocent person is being prevented from growing food because of these idiots, I really am speechless. Please do not give in to this pressure. A word with the local press perhaps? This is ridiculous!

I agree totally with Bluemoon, not that I would want things to go further but I bet this would be laughed out of court if it got that far

the person who advised to buy them like normal people deserves a medal for there level of ignorance, I bet they believe cow lay milk bottles,

Ive never had anything to hide from the Police but I feel the interpretation of the Terrorist act is open to abuse just like this, its a licence to search bypassing any court procedures

I know its difficult to strike the right balance we seem to all be guilty until proved innocent

Even as a parent I can no longer help in my own childs classroom even being supervised by members of staff as I'm not currently CRB checked. I know I don't want my children to risk abuse, 99.9% of parents are no risk to children, CRB has a limited effect anyway if the person has not been caught they a free to work with at risk groups

Rant over i'm gonna drink my hot chocolate and try and rest (grumpy old men momment over)

Starloc, the comment to use is "I'm not wasting your time, the moron who called is the one doing that, and why don't you know before you come AGAIN that you have been called to the same address several times and only found normal food crops?"
Being polite and helpful, but not a doormat, is always the best approach to misguided cops! (however difficult it gets when they don't get the message, and turn up at silly times).

            Beyond belief!

Surely there is some way to convince the local cops that you are above board? This might sound stupid but have you thought of writing to the local cop shop and inviting the top brass around and offering a tour of your garden?

TOH is totally up in arms! He says go to the press and make a formal complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission - quite apart from the clear harassment, there is no way that they should be using anti-terrorist legislation to pursue drugs issues, even if you were growing the stuff...

I wouldn't limit that observation to the boys in blue, to me it doesn't seem that common in any part of todays society ( present company excepted of course ).

There is a variety of tomato that has different leaf shape to 'normal' tomatoes (still not much like cannabis), but its name gives away why they shouldn't be confusable with a crop that needs a greenhouse

wouldn't it make sence that if these police have such a problem identifying Cannabis they are given a picture of a cannabis leaf perhaps the drugs squad could have a big picture on the back of their stab jackets, we could carry this idea on further

the Armed Police could have a AK47 on their back
The Bomb Squad could have a grenade on their back
The motorway Police could have a subaru Impreza
The serious crimes squad could have a picture of a robber with a swag bag
still trying to work out what the domestic violence team will have
