Hi Guys, just back from Wyevales, and I think both Lee and I need to see someone proffessionally!!
We'd heard about the 50p seed sale, so first thing this morning Mr D decides today we are definitely going seed shopping! As we knew the weather wasnt going to be much good we arranged to meet up with our fellow beekeeping friends at the plot early, to do the inspections on the 3 hives in the apiary, then after harvesting toms, squashes, peppers, chillies, sweet potatoes, courgettes and a few other bits before the rain set in, we headed off to Wyevales!
As soon as we walk thru the door Mr D walks up to the guy behind the counter and asks, 'I hear you've got a bit of a sale on some 'seeds!' The Guy looks at Lee as tho he's some sort of addict asking to buy drugs, then shows him where the 8 barrels of seed are, at which point Mr D and I start going thru them!
An hour and a half later as they were about to close we took 80 packets of seeds to the cash desk, all for the princely sum of £40!!!!
Looks like we're now pretty much set up for next year now, apart from some more varieties of sweetcorn, squash n pumpkin, and onion sets and seed spuds!
What makes it worse is the fact that we've already got LOADS of seeds at home! Lol!
I accused Lee of having a 'seed habit', he replied, 'No I havent, I'm just a farmer!' Lol!
