  • Enterprising kittens.... What will they do next?

    Yesterday we had a lovely trip out to Marple to the wyvale garden centre there.
    Sun was shining and far too much was spent on seeds in their 50p a packet sale
    We arrived home to find the key wouldn't work in the door. Weird, it felt like the latch had been put on but that can only be done from the inside
    OH duly checks round the back to see if we are being burgled....no sign of anyone or any forced entry.
    After much toing and froing with various neighbours, some WD40 in the lock, we ended up having to borrow a ladder and I got in through an upstairs window. Thank goodness we have old fashioned sash windows at the front!
    Bof the kitten looked at me in great surprise from my son's bunkbed as I climbed in next to him.
    I came down to open the front door and the latch had indeed been pushed in.
    We can only assume that the enterprising big brother kitten had been trying to open the door for his sister and managed to push the button in during his attempts!
    We will now have to carry back as well as front door keys with us when we are all out together just in case he does it again!

        Jin my cat jumps up at door handles and opens them , which is ok when he wants to go from one room to another, but when he leaves the back door open....when he has a perfectly good cat flap is beyond me . He hasn't mastered the door key...yet

          ROFL. I think that's what Bof had in mind having seen his humans opening it with the little lever. Hadn't accounted for the mortice lock though

                Bradden our first cat could also open doors. When we lived in Barnsley we kept gerbils in the kitchen, with the door closed so he couldn't get in......I came home one day to find the kitchen door open and Bradden "playing" with the gerbil in the dining room....

                  Jin sats in front of our budgie trying to work out how to get in, the budgie sat there whistling Laurel & Hardy at him. OH turned the cage round so the door was at the back faceing the wall, so jin sat on the cage. He's not daft.

                      Truc= Thingammyjig
                      OH chose ther names. They work pretty well I reckon.
