Oddly enough I did pot them on to see if that would get them going but not a lot is happening. Perhaps I am measuring them too often - the old watched pot saying springs to mind.
We lost the first one that was growing, it fell off, I have a feeling it got a bit cold in the unheated greenhouse, but its recovered and now has another 3 chillies growing on it, the largets of which is now 5cm long! The others are about 4cm and about 3 1/2cm long! Cant wait to see how big it gets!
We are now at number 17 on the leader board! Guess we wont be there for long tho, once the rest of the grapes get their chillies forming! lol!
My largest plant is now producing flower buds so hopefully I'll be able to measure chillis soon. Think that one was from a mid Feb sowing but the ones from mid March aren't far behind, not sure I've gained much from the extra month.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
My 2 Big Jims are covered in flower buds - and have been for ages. They take a long time to open into flowers. One flower so far which has been discarded - and no chilli. Boo Hoo. But I'm hopeful for more flowers any time soon.

Well, got down to the plot today to find that the chillies on our Big Jim are now at 10cm long, there's 3 of them, 2 at 10cm and 1 which is 7cm long, plus lots of other flowers on it too!
Congrats Mrs D - saw your name up there on the leader board today. I am still awaiting the opening of the first flowers but at least I can see the buds - makes me stay hopeful There was a while there when I thought they would end up on the compost heap they were so slow.
My Big Jims are covered in flower buds. Have even done a few flowers - but no chillies yet. Hungarian Hot Wax has chillies 3" long. Still hopefull of seeing something.

I too now have flowers, hopefully the sun we get here in Leicester will allow mine to catch up with Mrs D who's chillies will be growing under a permanant rain cloud with her living near to Manchester.

Lol PW! Permanent rain only applies to those who visit Manchester, when you live here you realize it only rains about 99% of the time!
Actually, it could be something to do with all the rain thats making our Big Jim produce chillis, but being in the greenhouse I wouldnt have thought so!
Apart from watering it about 3 times a week, feeding it once a week and hand pollinating the chilli flowers we have no idea why ours is doing so well!
Mr D says you may not be tickling it in the right spot, something to do with a g-spot you need to find in the flower, the GROWING SPOT!
Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the flower to actually open? I have been watching mine closely for ages now and still the flower hasn't opened - I am getting hungry and my back hurts but I am scared to turn away in case I miss it
It seemed to be months Shirlthegirl. Mine sat there forever with buds on, but no flowers then flowers but no chillies. BUT today, 3 chillies have appeared and growing in front of my eyes. I think they must be the most pampered chillies in the history of time.
Good luck with yours.
