I bought seeds from the link on that site. They came very quickly with growing instructions. Good luck Fezinio. Can't wait to see you on the leaderboard.

I put 6 of the seeds I was sent into the airing cupboard and all have germinated.
I'm well chuffed as have never grown chillies before.

I'm off to pot them up.

Going to be germinating some of ours tonight, then pot up and into the bedroom windowsill to see how they go!

                        Hi
I will be signing up more people later today - haven't had chance this weekend.

As for sowing your seeds. It's entirely up to you but personally I think it is a tad early. At this time of year there isn't really enough natural light in the UK and they'll probably go a bit leggy once they germinate. Shouldn't be a problem but optimum sowing date for Big Jim is probably late Feb, early March. Don't worry if you have already planted though. It's just a tortoise and hare situation. My money is on the tortoise as the plants could be sturdier and healthier as they won't have stuggled so much in the poor light.

                        Good luck all.

Ha, but some of us have heat and light in their greenhouses, like me

sorry, I was forgetting I was on a forum full of professionals!
you can grow for the competition by any means you like, hydroponics, artificial lights, strong chemicals, we really don't mind. Personally I'm sticking to natural light and organics (so I probably won't win!)

Fezinio is now on the leaderboard.

Fezinio - great to see you on the leaderboard.
Mrs D - I hope your seeds do germinate tonight. Mine have been in the airing cupboard 6 nights and they haven't sprouted yet

Unconcerned is right. We're very early and might do better to wait, BUT.....
That's why i've split my seeds, some now and some later. Belt and braces policy required here I think.
