Am hanging off planting mine up just yet - the tortoise approach as mentioned above!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Mrs D - I hope your seeds do germinate tonight. Mine have been in the airing cupboard 6 nights and they haven't sprouted yet

Unconcerned is right. We're very early and might do better to wait, BUT.....
That's why i've split my seeds, some now and some later. Belt and braces policy required here I think.
Hi Alice, sorry to hear they havent sprouted yet, any shoot news yet?

We decided after reading Unconcerned's post to hang fire a couple of weeks, then to germinate them 2 at a time, leaving 2 weeks between germinations, I treated Mr D to a heated propagator yesterday so we are now set up to get cracking! (We dont have an airing cupboard here, as we've one of those new efficient boilers that heats water on demand, so no hot water tank, must say I miss having an airing cupboard tho!)
          Blessings

I still have another 5 or 6 seeds, so I'm going to do them in a few weeks time. I wanted to grow chillies anyway, but this just adds another bit of fun to it.
Got my pepper on the map too.

Saw you on the map Kirsty, you're a long way south of me. And saw last years winner Luigi, out there in Sardinia. Saw Julian on the leaderboard at no 4 - but that will all change
Thank you for the work you've put into that, Julian.

Got one definite seedling up, and one threatening to come out. The others are shy I think.

Julian (Unconcerned) the seeds you sent arrived safetly this morning, thanks very much! Looks like some lovely chillies in there, some that will be just right for Mr D and some wonderfully hot ones for me!

I've updated the chillimap with the other varieties we are growing, we've now got a red chilli on the map! Cool!

I set 7 seeds to sprout on Jan 1st (using the wet kitchen paper method) Used this method before with excellent results. To date I have 2 seeds sprouted and moved into growing pots but not showng above ground yet ! I think they should be up there with big chillies on them !! Totally unrealistic expectations - but when you're competing against the world ? What's to do ??
