My little Jim is now 3 cm long but they grow flipping fast when they get going don't they. Poor wee plant is only about 8 inches high.
Mr D says 'Shhhhhhhh Shirl, they are not supposed to know about that, its our secret recipe of plant food!'

I dont know why ours is doing so well, we thought after loosing the first 3 fruit that we were out of it and didnt stand a chance, but even with the lack of sunshine they do seem to be growing really well, perhaps inspite of us rather than because of anything we are doing!

The other Big Jims in the kitchen windowsil are now flowering too, so will have to repot them and decide where they are going to live, the one we planted out into the plot died slowly with all the cold and rain that we've had since it went out in April, unfortunately, so not sure whether our original plans of trialling some outdoors on the plot and in the back yard are going to go ahead, may just keep them inside until the weather gets a lot warmer!

    • Well done Mrs Dobby, great to see one of our own grapes in the top three. Keep it up, whatever you're doing.

          • I've got 2 Big Jim plants. One is doing very fat chillies and the other longer thinner ones, but I seem to be stuck at 10cm. I blame the weather.

                        • Hi Shirl, it sems to have stopped growing this week, its steady at the 19cm area atm, I'm hoping a bit of feeding today and perhaps some warmer weather and a bit of sunshine will get it growing again! Just hope we dont suffer another bout of rot on it, like we did with the first 3!

Off down the plot now, so will hopefully have some news in a bit!

Oh and congrats to all those who've now joined the leader board!
                          Blessings

                              • It hasnt grown at all, tho I think we've sussed out the prob, the toms were completely shading it, so they've been deleafed a bit to allow some light in, and a good feed of chicken maure pellets and a watering with tomorite and now we'll see whether it'll put on a few more centimeters! I did manage to get quite a good piccy of it, which is below!
