Oh no...I loved it and was totally gripped the whole way through. I took Da Vinci Code camping the year it came out, and just sat with my book and chilled. It was one of the most stress-free holidays I've had.

My copy of The Lost Symbol arrived this morning via Amazon Prime free trial. I've put it aside until Sunday as there's too much needing done today with a fair tomorrow and Freya on the loose.

It's lovely to have something to look forward to, so I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I enjoyed all the his books.

Films of books (with the odd exception) will always be a let down - unless you made the film.

I discovered, after Harry Potter, that seeing the film before reading the book was much the best way. If you do it in reverse, then you can guarantee the best bits are missing. If you see the movie, then read the books, you get bonus bits

Oooh no,I can't do it that way round!
Much as I love reading,if I'd seen the film & new the beginning, middle & end I really would see it as a chore to read the book.
That said,I've never watched a film of a book I've read & been impressed.A good author will give you a few clues as to a persons ways etc,but then leave the rest of it up to you...you then go watch the film & all the characters are absolutely nothing like you'd built them.

Because now I'm unsure if have/not seen Angels and Ds (the film) I've gone and got that too (special offer at Tesc's), so know I have to finish the book which I still can't remember if I've already read or not before watching the film that I can't be sure I have seen...... and then I can start the Lost Symbol
