Now, where can I start:- Michael Parkinson, Dicky Bird, Brian Glover, Mick McCarthy, Saxon(Rock Band Of The 80s), Film " Kes" was shot on the street where my OH grew up, sadly the houses arn't there any more, Lyons bakery and more importantly...38 pubs, 6 night clubs, 2 wine bars, 2 lap dancing bars and a bingo hall (got to keep the oldies happy)..all in less than 1 square mile.

High street with parking in the middle. 'Home area' for some of the Time Team bunch, and Julian Richards that did 'Meet the Ancestors' (OK so that needs a rather large 'area', I think it's Stonehenge etc that attracts them). Lord Cardigan, who offered a base for the travellers to stay while visiting Stonehenge (clashes with police hit the headlines on that, nearly 30 years ago).

I'm still finding out to be honest! Moved here a few years ago. Erm... loads of bands obv, bump into a couple of famous faces taking their children to the parks round here. And steel...I actually went spent a day in a steelworks as a brief for work, and was utterly dumbstruck at what goes on there. There are people working very hard for their money.

My family are from the White Peak and my mother still lives there. I know much more about that area - very interesting. All the pagan history, the well dressings, the food, the weeeeiiird traditions. Love it!

The Village in question is Queniborough, leicestershire.

I'm now living on the other side of Leicester. Which is currently the World Epicentre of Chavs.

Erm, nowt really famous championship wise/film wise, that kind of thing, but we are famous for Chorley cakes. Has anyone else heard of them, or are they just famous round here?

Yup heard of them, went to school in Liverpool, have been making Eccles cakes for years, cos I prefer the flakey pastry which is the only major difference, chorley-short, eccles-puff, Banbury cakes have apple added and tend to be oval!, they really should learn to turn as you roll out!!, ho hum.
