what is your area 'famous' for?

The Folly Tower (the last folly to be built in Britain, by Lord Berners, to provide work for men during the 1930's recession). Coloured pigeons. Major battles in two civil wars. Henry Pye (the nursery rhyme "Sing a Song of Sixpence" comes from a story about him).

Paul Cornell lives here (writes for Dr Who and Torchwood) so we get "real" Daleks on festival days, oh and sometimes the Tardis appears as well.

She's moved then - she used to live about 5 miles (as the crow flies) from here!

She moved years ago! Has to be at about 3, as her kid was at nursery with my friend's kid (and didn't we all know it, lol!) and he's in his second year of school, now.

Oh I forgot, we have one of the largest populations of Ringed Necked Parakeets. The other main ones are Epsom way.

Erm, nowt really famous championship wise/film wise, that kind of thing, but we are famous for Chorley cakes. Has anyone else heard of them, or are they just famous round here?

Well, Lancashire is famous for lots of stuff.... and I live near Blackpool which is famous for being the horriblest, tackiest, naffest place in the world...isn't it?

However, I don't think our little cluster of villages is famous for anything, though I will continue to research this!!

The really really old lady who wrote the Topsy & Tim books lives one of the next villages to me - I only know this because she was beaten up last week and it was in our local paper.
