Born and grew up in South Devon, near Plymouth. Moved to Yorkshire for a bit with ex (his work) and then relocated to East Anglia (work again). Still here, ex long gone, but my children all live nearby and I get to see them and my grandchildren quite often.

Born in Harlow, Essex - and would not go back there Have lived all over the UK, several times in Scotland, and decided to come back here 13 years ago.
Met Mr C in 2002 and we moved to the Isle of Luing in 2005. It's quiet, peaceful, beautiful, has a small (200) mutually supportive community and is just the best place I have ever lived. Our house overlooks the harbour, our terrace leading on to the slaty beach. The sea is ever changing, ever fascinating even if at times a bit scarey! We wouldn't change it for the world.Attached Files

I was drawn to Surrey even as a teenager (born and bred in Bolton). I desperately wanted to study at the Uni in Guildford, despite having never been to the SE! Years later I moved to Dartford for a job and then moved to Surrey, after seeing where my ex lived. He moved to East Surrey and I moved with him, but was desperately unhappy. We split up, I instantly moved back to the Dorking/Leith Hill area and have no intentions of going anywhere ever again! It's stunning scenery, fantastic quality of life (if you're willing to work for it) and it's just 'home'. Perhaps a past-life thingy, but I never did fit in living in my home town. The only other place I would consider living is Derbyshire, around the Edale area.

I live here because the court injunction prevents me from travelling outside the county boundary.

Isle of Wight! Dad was in the Army, I was born abroad - Egypt - and we travelled all over the place for the first 10 years of my life. Absolutely hated it. My mum was an Isle of Wighter and we eventually moved down here. I thoroughly love the Island (been here since 1959), my wife loves it and all my kids love it.

.... because its the most beautiful place on earth (well in my eyes anyway!!).
My little country cottage has been in the family for at least eight generations, and I really do feel 'rooted' here. It's situated on the side of a mountain and over looks a beaultiful lough (lake), which opens into the Irish sea. I wake up each morning to a view of the Mourne mountains from my bed, and one of my greatest pleasures is watching the sun rise (and the moon!) from behind them. Pure heaven!
If I won the lotto in the morning I wouldn't leave. I'd add on a couple of rooms, and give up work so I could dedicate my time to tending my animals and cultivating the fields beyond my veg gardens.A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

I love living where I do as its only 30 mins to Dartmoor in one direction and 20 mins to the sea in the other and my family, although only my sister and her family there now as Mum and Dad and middle sister sadly departed. My sons all live just 20 mins away towards The English Riviera ( Sp ) TorbayGardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache

I love the bits of Scotland I've seen... we've driven from Glasgow to Fort William and then up to Plockton and the landscape was just staggering. The really bad weather was just as spectacular as the really good weather! I really remember how shocked I was when we travelled back to Essex and I realised how flat everything is here!

me to , im only glad u managed to escape.
i live here because greedy landlords forced me out when my grandfather died in my previous house. this was the only place area i could afford.
i would love to live around the isle of skye area but silly southeners have pushed up the house prices so ill probablly never afford to move. suspect im doomed to live here in a 80s plasterboard rabbit hutch that is now rotting away and continually damp.
dont laugh but last month i slammed the kitchen door and the toilet cistern on the other side of the wall fell off. this is the sort of quality living im used to.a good put down line to use !

I am here cos OH got made bankrupt some years ago and we had to take the first house we were offered or go into a B&B. Moved to Haverhill to be with him, and here we'll stay until the kids are all grown and going their own way.
The estate we are on is not pretty, but 5 mins out of town in any direction and we are in the middle of nowhere.
My family history is all centred around Stepney/Mile End and I was born in Barking, lived in Dagenham but no money on earth would get me into a city ever again.
OH and I dream of a self build one day, eco friendly, self sufficient as much as possible.Kirsty b xx

Born in Oldham, brought up in Cornwall (Newquay, St Austell) brief lurk in S Wales, then Cumbria with Dads job. Been here ever since. Round Grange and Cartmel for years, but moved here to Millom when me n OH decided to buy house together. Only place we could afford, but we fell so lucky. 2 mins walk from shore, and Duddon valley is awsomely beautiful, with sandy beaches one way and sweeping fells the other. Love it, if only we could find a smallholding (and win the lottery to pay for it, Cumbria is many things but cheap aint one of them)Anyone who says nothing is impossible has never tried slamming a revolving door
