I couldn't do what you do HW and Ginger - duvets over 3.5 togs - I get really roasted alive and can't sleep - so all my old duvets have been converted into compost bin duvets and are keeping the bins nice and cosy (not to mention sundry slow worms) - whilst I cool off under cotton sheets and wool blankets (using flap technology to regulate the temperature - I turn a layer back when I get too hot). But there, I am near the radiator that calls itself Heathrow!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I made the 'no heating on until 3pm' when I first started working from home about 10 years ago......and had no money as I was still paying for uni and a car...and just can't break that habit.
If the OH and/or his DD are here then the rule goes out of the window....but heating a house for 1 person - nope, can't do it.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

We are on prepayment meters and I'm really tight with the heating. In winter it goes on at 0500 (I need warmth when I'm on an early) and goes of at 0800.
Evenings is 1800 till 2100. I have blankies on the couch and find a bath in the evening, fluffy socks and dressing gown keep me plenty warm.
My bedroom radiator is never on, but I think it takes hot water overflow from the tank as its always warm. Pickle sleeps with only a plush blanket on her bed, her choice, as she is a wee hot bod.
I have been known to switch off heating and open a window in November if we have got too warm!!! Also have back door open all day as well as all windows if I'm home.Last edited by kirsty b; 21-09-2009, 10:33 PM.Kirsty b xx

Its been really warm here the last few days, t shirt and shorts still, I did put a fleece on tonight but just took it off cos I am so hot. Only a couple of nights ago I had the fan going all night.
I love a coal fire and would love to get rid of the gas one, OH gets too hot and is always turning the rads down when they are on, I go round turning them up again.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache

Lovely during the day.....hot even, shorts- flip flops - t'shirts but come sun down burrrrrr! it gets cold so quickly!
Even my bees are confused, they are really busy (on the Ivy) I am supposed to be making the hive smaller for winter, but they are increasing in numbers. I waiting for the swallows to turn round and come back
I have to say this weather is wonderful- (could do with a little over night rain though) and the trees are starting to look really autumnal here in North Oxfordshire

Our heating went on for the first time last night
I was sat in a long sleeve t-shirt and hoodie, fleece jogging bottoms, 2 pairs of socks and a pair of fluffy boot-like slippers and was FREEZING!!!
We only put it on for 2 hours but I felt a lot better for it!
However, I think I have found the perfect present for all of us 'coldies':
Sofa Snug
(P.S. Don't even ask how I knew about this company... )
