I would like to report for duty sir, but have not seen 'spam' before -how do I know it when I see it please.
Do we have a little book of black silhouette shapes of 'spammers' like the old aircraft spotting ones.

      Ok troops....

Spammers are usually seen during the dark hours, advertising products that can be used to 'keep it up' [obviously, their sunflowers aren't as sturdy as Mr Z's], or electronic goods,...or pretty much anything that is not related to growing veg or keeping chooks.

Their user names are very inventive and keep us guessing, such as 'kdfdshflksdfjksdjhf'; 'utututututut', or the imaginative; '34343434gogogog'.......recently their pot noodles must be lacking in nutrients as they have had names such as 'rr', and 'uu'....or even 'zz'.

In their profiles, they usually have the word 'man' under either occupation, or interests. []

If you see one, press the red triangle and we get a report and can click straight to the spam post and blitz them.

I don't report them, but do notice some really odd names when I check to see who is signed in!

I was about to report someone yesterday, then I read their post just to make sure, and it was completely legit, and he's been a member since 2006!! Whoops!!

Still do it, just in case they joined and forgot - spammers might not have good memories......usually it is just that the posts can sometimes be a bit random or from nowhere.

Often, the spammers resurrect old threads to post their spam on.......me and Sarz often have discussions about whether they are just random posts or actually mean something in relation to the thread that they have just posted on....

No seriously, this was stv, and he'd posted on a couple of threads yesterday, which was what drew my attention - but he's having trouble with his squash so its okay.

When I've reported these "Numpties" I just write "spam" in the message box, am I ok to do this?? or should I leave it blank??

Spam is good!!!! You can also use it to report inappropriate posts; if you want someone to have a look at it.....so 'inappropriate post' or 'have a butchers at this, will you...' or 'is this really appropriate for a family forum???'...so that we know why
