just like to point out that if it is making holes in the clothes, then it is stuck between the drum and the drum casing and would not therefore be in the filter.....

YES..me too!!!..or snuck somewhere behind..and only with my cotton tops!

hmmmm....mostly with tops bought from TKMaxx
      ..clearly already rejects
I wonder if this happens when the thread is changed from spindle to spindle when the cloth is made????

I've checked my washing machine- and there's nothing sticking out of the drum ( nor the tumble drier!!)

One big problem for me years ago was with a leather label on a pair of jeans which stained clothes in the same wash with a brown mark..ruined LOADS of clothes until I worked out what had caused it!

Mr Sheds had a cream sweater with a leather label on it ... dry clean only, pah!
I claimed not to know how the big brown stain appeared all down the front of it.

He got his own back though, by bunging a cheap red tee shirt in a white wash

I love colour catcher, or colour run remover! Had to use it many a time after a stray sock or summat has turned whites pink

Just pulled a couple of single quilts out after doing them on a hot wash (I have large capacity machine), and machine looked as though it was smoking...wondering if I should worry.........all servicing/repair convered on rental agreement - which is nice.

So the washing machine had it's op today. Both washing machine and female (not so careful) owner are both doing well

Coming from it's gut were 2, yes 2, heavy duty plastic A5 white pouches!!!!

Yep, not bra wire tangled at all: just these weird chewed up plastic pouches.

            No idea!!!!

Neither me nor the OH know what they are but they were over the drain hole so they can't have been helping.

I can see the bra wire but it's arching downwards so I don't think it'll do any harm.....maybe Can't get it anyway - seriously the holes in the drum are not very big and even my fine round nosed pliers were too big.

I now have 2 bent skewers as I had to peal a little bit of the door seal back and then poke around with the skewers which I'd bent at 45 degrees to get the plastic out (pretty ingenious and cunning mechanics)

(P.S. Boys I regularly check the filter - it's my special piggy bank)

You can get little bag's to put bra's in before putting them in the machine it saves a lot of hassel. Just had to replace my machine never thought to look in the filter, whoops, oh well 2nd hand machine from OH neice will do for a while. and it is soooooooo much quieter than old one.

A neighbour of mine (when in Orkney, which probably explains a lot) sent the washing machine for repair. It came back accompanied by a heavy envelope marked "do not wash this" and containing a 4" nail.........

Lol, amazing what you find. I wonder how these things get in there!
Thanks for the info on finding the filter and the towel tip. Mine has started getting a little noisy so will check it out before it becomes a problem

Are the holes in the drum completely smooth to the touch. Just wondering if maybe something might have caught the edge of one of the holes and made it stand slightly proud - creating a sort of cheese grater effect - which might affect clothes.
