  • Hazel! Hazel! Yooohoo!

I did it - I took a compliment, and just said thank you.

Whilst on the plot yesterday LadyWayne came to visit with Bean. He was getting a bit bored just sitting there - so LadyWayne decided to go for a walk down to visit our neighbours who also have a plot.

She came back and said something along the lines of "To say there's only one of you, and we've got an 8 month old baby. There's two of them, plus his parents helping out every other weekend. You're plot looks much better"

"You reckon?" I said. "Absolutely" said LadyWayne. "Thankee" I said, and returned to my work.

Well done Wayne - Hazel will be proud of you

If that were me, I would have said something like - well, you're biased though. I know how hard it is to actually accept praise so really well done. And well done on the allotment too and just think how well you'll do next year when Bean is 20 months and able to help a bit.

          Well done that lad.

Anyhoooooo....HW....you know when I came to visit and you bunged a packet of lettuce seeds [amongst others] into the seed swap....well, I pinched a pinch and sowed them.....and I've just harvested the first one for tea tonight.

Going to leave 2 to go to seed and save those and put more into the swap but doesn't time fly!!! 6 July that was. Crikey.

That was the day before Bean got his first tooth too - he's got four now!

Does fly by indeed. We must do it again some time.

I am indeed proud of the boy - you need a refresher course though, missee!

                How does it go?

You should have been in the car with him on the way down to Brighton the next day...!

Anyway, he's pretty cheerful the rest of the time. He's currently full of his first cold and yet he still greets me with a snotty smile.

                    Sleeping much better too.

Ohh! Ohh! I've been good too Hazel!!

(did you see my Jolly good Autumn show thread?) I accepted compliments left right and centre, and was very gracious about it, and not big headed or self-wotsicating or anything.

See - and I bet you felt good and proud of yourself & your efforts - and why not?

I entered a similar number of classes at the Hill show this year (mind you, you pipped me! ) and I felt like the cat who'd had the cream - couldn't stop grinning!
