As the question Say's "Why do people join, then not join in". I was looking through our members list this morning, when I noticed lots of members that have never posted a reply or set a thread off, my only conclusion is they just want the information without taking part!! I love taking part in all the discussions and banter, plus asking my own questions. What do you think?

I've often wondered that myself. I am a member of three forums. One I do look at occasionally, but I find it very hard to navigate and get fed up pretty quickly with it. Another, is very new and only has a handful of members, so it takes a long time to get any responses to threads or posts, and then of course there is this one, which is fab. It took me a while to get into my stride here, and I did experience a blip, but 99.9% of the time it is such a friendly place to be, and I'd rather contribute (in my own little way) than sit on the sidelines gleaning information and tips from other members.

Lol Nicos,
I have to admit to feeling very unknowledgeable most of the time....There's just so much to learn! I was saying to OH just last night that I need to get on top of some of the things I already try and grow (like onions from seeds) before I branch out any further. The trouble is it's all so exciting I want to try it all now
As far as not joining in, well, they don't know what they're missing....

Some people like to feel involved but not bovved about the banter? Some dip a toe in once in a blue moon, others don't but they like to read what's here. I did for a bit before I started posting. I think it's fine to be honest.I don't roll on Shabbos

Sometimes people are too shy to post or afraid that they might ask a stupid question.
There are a couple of other fora that I visit but they can be quite cruel to each other so I rarely post on them for fear of being shot down.
That doesn't apply here, of course. We are all lovely - so to anyone watching but not posting - don't be afraid we're not that scary - well, I am, obviously but you know what I mean.A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
