The nearest thing to fabric softener I use is white vinegar, it seems to soften up the towels really well and doesn't smell at all.

Okay I have a becko - similar but not same.

Conditioner not going: is it still in the compartment or sort of watery mix?

Yes = pull the whole draw out and remove the 'lid' section of the draw (blue plastic in my case). There is a long tube in the conditioner draw which gets blocked if you use condensed stuff. A pencil poked down the tube works for me.
Secondly, check the actual space where the draw fits. The bottom of the space also gets a build up of condtn which blocks the bottom of the tube (I hope this makes sens when you look at the machine) wipe it out with cloth.

I recommend not using condense conditioners with this machine cos the water and the Condt don't mix very well and make a very sticky blocky sludge which blocks the machine every couple of months or so.

The quickest program I found is the normal cotton with quick wash button selected but I think we have different programs - mine don't seem as complicated as yours. If I want extra spin, I press the extra spin button for instance, not select any program with C at the end if you see what I mean.

        Hope that helps. XX

Not watery, not going in unless I turn knob back to a rinse.

Thanks will give that a try but as I said before niece didnt use any so shouldnt have a build up.

yep I see what you mean but does yours take as long, the wash I put in at 2pm took well over an hour and because I was busy I forgot to check it then I had to reselect a rinse.

I want my old machine back. lol
I use condidtioner cos I dont like the feel of clothes washed without it, OH is very fussy about smells and doesnt like strong smells.

Hmm i seem to have mixed up the quotes lol

Have you double and triple checked that the hot and cold water inlet feeds are the correct way round?

If they are the wrong way round then hot water goes in and the machine sits there doing nothing much other than an occasional turn or two to stop wrinkles while the water cools down.

It can take ages for water to cool down which would explain the long cyles!!

And it will happen each time the cycle calls for water!!

Also it is quite possible that the machine senses that hot water is coming thru to swill in the softener and it will not allow that to happen.

              You need to
A/ check that your water pipes are marked up properly (plumbers often get this wrong)
B/ you have connected the flex pipes to your pipes correctly
              AND
C/ check that the wash machine has the pipes connected the correct way round.
The proof of the growing is in the eating.
              Leave Rotten Fruit.
              Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potasium - potash.
              Autant de têtes, autant d'avis!!!!!
Il n'est si méchant pot qui ne trouve son couvercle.

Or turning it off and back on

We have a hotpoint and the cotton wash at 40 takes 2.5 hours and at 60 takes 3.5 hours (we've never tried the 90 wash). We only have a cold water input though.
