Like I said, I'm not a chip girl, and even I know they should have grated cheese on top to melt and go all stringy and mmm...
I'll second the curry sauce though at a push.
Chips 'n' Mayo - like wot they have in France, is nice with narrow chips.
Fat chips however, need grated cheese AND curry sauce, together!
Chips from the chippie MUST have salt and vinegar put on in the shop and must be eaten from the paper.
I'm with Piskie 'bout the egg tho - must be running through the chips, but better with a good slice of ham too!
*dribble*
Oh shut up you lot I'm hungry now LOL!

I always loved the chips with the egg on top with the yolk dribbling through. Until I suddenly developed an allergy to eggs (not the rash type allergy, but the tummy ache type allergy). Now I can eat them only in small amounts ( thankfully if they are in cake that is ok too , Phew!!)
I am with the grated cheese melt through, my lovely daughters introduced me to that one.
Also like the mayo, but have you tried them with salad cream?
Now I come to think of it, I will have them with gravy, brown sauce, ketchup, mushy peas, curry, bbq sauce, too. - Not all at the same time, mind, lol.
Re the crumpets/bacon - you have to try croissants with bacon (grilled until crispy)

This is a very hungry thread.
I agree brown sauce is for bacon butties but to be honest if anyone presented me with any of the above combos right now (except the mushy peas) I would devour it
Grated cheese on chips is SOOOOOOO Lincolnshire. I have no idea why Seahorse thinks she will get away with denying that one......
