Ebay not so bad!

Sold a book and got my first neutral feedback from someone who disputed the word 'illustrated' in my description. He/she Left feedback to say that there was only one illustration in the book.
I put in a compalint to ebay to say he/her was lying. I emailed he/her to tell them as much. They emailed back to say that they had been right through the book and there were TWO illustrations. I emailed to say they were still lying again as I had checked the book before sending. I asked that they send the book back for a full refund.
I then got a cock and bull story about the dog having chewed it to pieces.........how fortunate thinks I.

Got an email from ebay this morning to say they had scrubbed the only blemish from my 1300 record and I was back to being a 100% ebayer!
Cool thinks I.................they must have been reading the various emails that were going back and forward and came to the same conclusion I had.

The annoying thing was that I had sold the book for one penny!

There are always some herberts out there. I have an unblemished record too, and thankfully have not had to thrash people via email to keep it.

I got one neg last year because the seller had not sent my DSD's Xbox game in time for Christmas and I mentioned it in the feedback and gave them a neutral....I had bought it in November so there was no excuse......but a couple of months later all negs from this joker were removed so I'm back to 100%.

I had neg. feedback from a herbert saying my (worn once, washed & ironed) gown was a "tatty rag".
I was given no opportunity to correct her - she went straight to feedback.

Some people really are trying it on: like the girl who just sold me a pair of "good condition" shoes: they arrived scuffed, torn and with pink chewing gum on the sole. Nice.

Mostly though, eBay works well. You get divs wherever you shop.

i had one from a guy that bought a couple of items from me and despite my postage saying UK only this dipstick was from ROI. anyway he asked for a postage quote which I duly gave him and the he started to argue that the costs stated on the PO website was a lot cheaper than I quoted.

I politley asked him to recheck with afore mentioned website but this time adding the weight 2.5kgs into the calculator. i then offered him the chance to pull out of the deal if he was still unhappy (bearing in mind that I clearly stated i would not post abroad)

he then paid me via paypal for the goods plus postage, which i then sent off the same day. about a week later the plank then gives me neg feeback saying my postage was extortionate, what a w*****r.

I did get my own back later though with the help of a good friend and a spare email account.

P&P is quoted at the time you make your bid, yet you still get people giving neg.feedback after the sale?
I just had a guy who bought 4 items from me, didn't pay. I emailed him, then he asked for a P&P discount. I said you had one, included in a multi-sale deal.
He then asks if I can do any better.
WTF?

I said sorry, but if you weren't happy with the price of my P&P, you shouldn't have bid.

I think some people make bids when they're drunk, then try and wriggle out of the deal the next morning !

I only ever had 1 negative feedback, and that was removed by the seller. I bid on an item, and sent a message saying "if I win there will be a delay in payment because I am going away for short while." Came back to negative feedback about delayed payment. Pointed this out to seller, reply "So you did, sorry" and negative feedback removed.
I rarely buy from any seller with less than 99% positive feedback, and I always check the actual comments of anyone who gave neutral/negative.

i still have 100% witjh E bay but gave up selling because of all the hassle.I mean all for a few bob, sometimes not even that with the prices some items are sold at.its easier to sell at boot sales.at least then when youve run away and hid you wont have feedback probs. (only a joke!) . mind you i must confess i once by mistake posted neg feed back on a 1 pence t.v.i won on. wrote nice things in the feed back but somehow checked neg feedback. when the seller asked why, i did retrack the feedback but it was a lot of palaver to do this and i felt really bad about it.

just arrived is the data cable i bought on E bay, about an hour after i have found the original , oh well you can never have to many data cables!

That wouldn't happen these days Hilary as sellers aren't allowed to give negatives...............
In my instance I was blowed if I was going to give the guy a positive feedback with just a comment, thats why I filed an 'unfair feedback' claim, and won!

No thanks. I'll take my photos while I listen to the radio and enjoy a coffee, list everything on Turbolister so it all goes on sale at same time, and I'll time my sales to end on a day I am near the post office. Simples.

I found a golf bag a few weeks ago and decided to put it on there. I couldn't weight it so had to guesstimate the postage. After it had sold I took it to the post office and sent it off.
I calculate how much I'd made, worked out to be 14p.

If only I'd found a thousand I might have made £140!

I got a bit disillusioned with Turbo Lister and find it's quicker and easier to list direct now! I also won't pay for Auctiva now that they've started charging for it but I still have their scrolling store on my listings for nowt.
I sell mainly old non fiction books. I bought a scanner which has a joggled hinged lid which allows me to scan books up to telephone directory thickness. Much easier and quicker than photographing them. Sometimes use the ISBN number to find piccies on google but prefer to give a picture of the actual book I am selling.
Worried about 18th Oct whence from, all books will have to be listed with FREE postage!

I buy loads of books from ebay but haven't got round to selling any yet..
