BATHSTORE ,any comments please

as the title says,were looking at new bathrooms,apparently the above make their own stuff,so was wondering if they are ok,or best to avoid,have been in safternoon and have an eye on 1 or 2 things,and they got a sale on
Have heard b&q things often come with parts missing,so thought i would ask on here,after all what a better place for good honest answers,

We bought all our new bathroom stuff from Bathstore (for the new house), so that is one rolltop bath, two showertrays, two shower screens, one chrome shower head, three sinks, three wcs, and all the taps and wastes to go with!! Phew.

The products were all fabulous, and where we did have damage (a ding in a shower tray from deliverymen) it was put right within a couple of days.

Our plumber did comment that the very low profile waste on the rolltop bath was a pain, and none of the wastes have anti-vac fittings, so we will be modifying them to prevent glugging, but apart from that, we were very pleased with it all.

I love bathstore stuff; if only they did kitchens I might well have rekitted mine out.....

Depends if you want a fashionable suite or not I guess. I used the plumbers merchant for our stuff and its great and I saved a packet. They have the catalogues for all the standard brands. After all modern stuff is all white anyway. Save your money for the shiny taps and other bits...

One tip if you're fitting a bath yourself is to make a wood frame to support the sides. It will be hidden behind the panels anyway. It will stop any flex that might take place despite the legs and supports you will get as standard.

B&Q don't do it. My friend spent £2000 on furniture from there, it took 12 weeks, 3 different deliveries, 4 days waiting for no one to turn up and 7 hours on the phone complaining before it all turned up. She was not happy.

When we did our bathroom Bath Store hadn't moved into town and we used a local supplier. The service, price and quality was amazing - he saved us a fortune as he told us how it was....

I had a complete bathroom refit and the Bath Store items were very good quality. The customer service was abysmal and they delivered wrong sizes and failed to turn up with correct items on several dates. I had to get very cross indeed with the sales chap.

They ripped out our old bathroom and new one in finished in 5 days, They even left the loo in till the last minute so we had a place to pee.

I slipped the fitters a few quid and they even put up the light and extra fittings I had bought separately.

As they are local, the boss man popped in periodically during fitting to see if I was happy with progress.

Several months later I noticed a crack in the grouting in a place where water would go through.. one phone call and the fitter was straight back and fixed it.

I was very very pleased with the work, cost about £4,000 in this includes us getting our own flooring from relative in the flooring trade, and my own fixtures.

thankyou very muchley for the replies,i was right to avoid 1 said place then,
wickes do an eco suit,having looked at said reviews for the loo,is a good item,but can get problems with the sewer conection,so coupled with what i have knowledge of,and what you all have said,i now am armed with more info,will defo have a look at that showroom seasprout thank you,
All info no matter how small is important,like the build a frame Matt,that is important,
We have a local plumbers merchant,not very imprest with what they got,and bathstores, as well,both 5 mins walk away,so will keep looking until the room is ready to be fitted,
