roll on the weekend
The love of gardening is a seed once sown never dies ...
you know, we gardeners are never really pleased! Not enough rain, too much rain, too hot, too cold - tis good to have something to talk about with strangers
I'm with you there Ladies - I've never seeen the lawn so yellow, even the clover has died-off in places
I've got 2 gardens to do today, but with one of them it just isn't worth it when it's like this, I'll just make more mess than good iykwim. The other one is lopping shrubs, so better get me waterproofs on again and get going, then catch up on paperwork afterwards (if I don't end up in a garden centre) - have a good day all.
Yup we've got some as well, it must be at least 7 maybe 8 weeks since we had "proper" rain, we had some of that fine stuff but that's all....not be long before we're grumbling about it though
We've got our first rain for 6 weeks or so. Fortunately, during the dry time, we put a corrugated clear plastic roof on the chicken run so the hens aren't all clarty this morning! I want to plant my Japanese onion sets but I've been waiting for the ground to moisten up. Otherwise I'd just be wedging them in amongst the brick-hard clods!
Wish I could join in your happiness for all this rain. We seem to have too much of it over here in Preston. Its been raining non stop since about 4am (it did stop for an hour at tea time and now its back at it again). My chooks are thinking of becoming ducks!
